BCB Clears Six Players for PSL After Security Green Light Amid Regional Tensions

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has approved six national players to take part in the Pakistan Super League after completing a detailed security evaluation. The clearance came after coordination with multiple government bodies, including the sports and foreign affairs ministries, as well as Bangladesh’s diplomatic mission in Islamabad. Authorities concluded that, despite broader regional tensions, there is no immediate threat to the players traveling to Pakistan.
Fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, and Nahid Rana, along with batter Parvez Hossain Emon, have already departed for the tournament. Rana even shared a lighthearted in-flight moment on social media marking the end of Eid celebrations. They are joined by opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim and leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, completing the group granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
In terms of team placements:
- . Lahore Qalandars have signed Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon.
. Rawalpindi Pindis (a newer franchise identity linked to Rawalpindi) includes Rishad Hossain.
The 2026 PSL season is set to run from March 26 to May 3, but it comes with unusual challenges. The Pakistan Cricket Board has scaled down operations significantly—matches will be held at only two venues and without spectators. This decision is largely tied to Pakistan’s domestic fuel shortages, which have been worsened by supply disruptions connected to ongoing tensions in the Middle East
